The Roof

January of 2020 a small section of roof over Villas unit #131 in the back of the building was completely replaced due to ongoing roof leaks since originally built in 1996-1997. Repairs were made several times over the years and the leak would eventually return. (Over the open living room area of that unit). The purpose was twofold:

  1. Fix the ongoing leak.
  2. Remove the existing tiles and keep them for ongoing repairs as the original tiles are no longer available. The Supply of original repair tiles is exhausted.

Note there is one picture below showing an edge view of the old underlayment (on the left) vs the new underlayment on the right. The old underlayment measured .5mm thick vs 1.5mm thick for the new material. That underlayment does all the work in waterproofing the roof, the original stuff is pretty flimsy (Builder grade).

If there is a need to get more tiles from another contractor, this PDF should give them all the info they need to order more. It contains the pictures from the slideshow below. The manufacturer link to this tile is Boral, Inc., Villa 900 - Arizona Clay - Color: Gold Dust
